David Clark
died Wednesday, April 23, 2003, in Santa Rosa, CA, two weeks after his
fiftieth birthday. During his 12-month long battle with cancer, David
showed his family and friends how to live with courage and purpose, even
in the face of illness. David saw each day as a gift and he made each
of us thankful that we could share time with him. His example reminds
us all to live our lives with humor, patience and awareness.
During the past 25 years, David had risen through his career in the
marine industry. He spent more than 13 years in senior management
positions in Texas, Connecticut and California. For the last three
years of his life, David had been Deputy General Manager of the Ferry
Division of the Golden Gate Bridge Highway and Transportation District.
He was also vice president of the Passenger Vessel Association.
David loved to spend time in the outdoors with his family and friends.
He split his sporting endeavors between the mountains and the sea. He
was an expert mountain biker, roller blader and skier. He loved to
camp, windsurf and sail. Anything that was new and challenging caught
David's imagination. His enthusiasm was contagious.
This website will remain as a tribute to David,
a man with a vision.
